Rl-2

No socks were needed in the studio today as I moved through the motions of a morning yoga practice.  Quieting my mind, strengthening my body, moving into stillness with mindfulness. Savasana brings the simultaneous release and re-entrance of thought, of purpose. Now the day begins.

After lunch, my husband and I walked along the levee on the Mississippi River bank uptown. Daiquiri drinkers, horseback riders, triathlon trainers, a hidden sun. The sky was perfect for my daily outfit photos, the boats a perfect background. Each day a new perspective, a reason for each garment, chosen with care to reflect my mood and surroundings. This is the life of a personal style blogger. Today felt like Spring, and looked like brights and florals.

Hours later, back home, back to work. Perusing line sheets, lookbooks, and advertisements to find the right brands to carry in my new shop. Studying other online clothing boutiques, determining my place, not quite ModCloth, not quite Nasty Gal, finalizing positioning. Taking so much care and cautiousness to choose the perfect garments that will define my brand. The anticipated Summer launch marks the day of a dream come true.

Today meant progress, because every day counts.
